Sinosidal is my second attempt at a VJ/interactive music visualization and control interface. It was inspired by the technology mentioned in Vernor Vinge’s rainbows End where students use advanced tech and augmented reality to create networked creative compositions using haptic sensors in their clothes and on their bodies.

This project uses OpenFrameworks with OSC and GUI framework add-ons to sync the motion of the graphics to the music and music video, as well as enabling the user to control the motion of different visual effects, volume, and colors with a paired Wii remote and Nunchuk. They can literally compose and create along to the music, drawing new visualzations over Lana Del Ray’s iconic music video “Summer Time Sadness” as it plays.

This project was created for my Creativity & Computation lab in the first semester of my MFA Design + Technology program at Parsons, The New School for Design
